A **Business Service Offering** is an entity within the [[Service Consumption (CSDM domain)|Service Consumption domain]] of the [[Common Service Data Model|Common Service Data Model]] (CSDM), a reference architecture developed by [[ServiceNow|ServiceNow]] that provides prescriptive guidance on service-related definitions and data modeling within the ServiceNow AI Platform. A Business Service Offering represents a stratification of a [[Business Service (CSDM)|Business Service (CSDM)]] into capability, availability, pricing, and packaging options, consisting of one or more service commitments that uniquely define the level of service in terms of availability, scope, pricing, and other factors. Business Service Offerings are recorded in the service_offering table with a Service Classification of "Business Service" and serve as the starting point for configuring [[Service Portfolio Management (CSDM)|Service Portfolio Management (CSDM)]]. For example, an organization may offer two levels of desktop support: a "standard" offering with upgrades and virus protection, and an "executive" offering with the standard commitments plus a 30-minute response guarantee during business hours. ServiceNow recommends that every operational Business Service have at least one offering. Business Service Offerings use the "Depends on::Used by" relationship with [[Service Instance (CSDM)|Service Instance (CSDM)]] types including [[Application Service (CSDM)|Application Services]] and the "Published as" reference to the parent Business Service. Beginning with the New York release, Business Service Offerings may be requested through the Request Catalog and linked to catalog items. Offerings can identify subscribers by [[User (CSDM)|user]], [[Company (CSDM)|company]], [[Location (CSDM)|location]], [[Department (CSDM)|department]], and [[Group (CSDM)|group]] for ITSM+ capabilities, enabling organizations to determine who is impacted when services experience incidents across the [[CSDM Service Life Cycle|CSDM Service Life Cycle]].
