The **CSDM Conceptual Model** is a visual representation of the [[Common Service Data Model|Common Service Data Model]] (CSDM) that maps domain entities, their relationships, and associated personas across the seven CSDM domains within the [[ServiceNow|ServiceNow]] AI Platform. The CSDM 5 Conceptual Model serves as the historical view of CSDM, complementing the [[CSDM Service Life Cycle|End-to-End Service Life Cycle]] view by providing detailed descriptions, conceptual-to-physical mapping, and implementation guidance for the data model. While prescriptive, the model was designed with extensibility in mind, allowing organizations to extend it as needed, such as adding custom service classification types. The Conceptual Model organizes objects across the [[Foundation (CSDM domain)|Foundation]], [[Ideation & Strategy (CSDM domain)|Ideation & Strategy]], [[Design & Planning (CSDM domain)|Design & Planning]], [[Build & Integration (CSDM domain)|Build & Integration]], [[Service Delivery (CSDM domain)|Service Delivery]], [[Service Consumption (CSDM domain)|Service Consumption]], and [[Manage Portfolio (CSDM domain)|Manage Portfolio]] domains, illustrating how they support different roles and persona archetypes. Key personas mapped to the model include Enterprise Architect and Digital Product Owner in Design & Planning, Product Owner in Ideation & Strategy, Service Instance Owner and Service Delivery Owner in Service Delivery, Business Relationship Manager and Customer Service Manager in Service Consumption, and Process Owner, Data Steward, Product Owner, and Contract Manager in Foundation. The model defines a CSDM Service as a business or utility service with standards-conforming Service Definition, Service Delivery model, [[Service Delivery Network|Service Delivery Network]] model, and Service Consumption model enabling standardized digital workflows. ![[csdm-5-conceptual-model.png]]
