**Enterprise Architecture** (EA) is a [[ServiceNow|ServiceNow]] product, formerly known as Application Portfolio Management (APM), that provides capabilities for rationalizing and managing [[Business Application (CSDM)|Business Application]], technology, [[Information Object (CSDM)|information]], and business object portfolios within the ServiceNow AI Platform. The product leverages tables from the [[Design & Planning (CSDM domain)|Design & Planning domain]] of the [[Common Service Data Model|Common Service Data Model]] (CSDM) to enable enterprise architects to make strategy-aligned architectural decisions based on relationships between [[Business Capability (CSDM)|business capabilities]], business applications, and [[Application Service (CSDM)|application services]]. Enterprise Architecture enables organizations to assess technologies, information, and services based on their relationships to business capabilities and applications, supporting use cases such as mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, cloud migrations, and cost reduction initiatives. The product includes Enterprise Modeling and Visualization for visually designing and committing [[Value Stream (CSDM)|Value Stream]] and [[Business Process (CSDM)|Business Process]] data models, as well as Technology Portfolio Management for identifying risks associated with outdated software when combined with [[Service Mapping (ServiceNow)|Service Mapping]] and SAM Pro. EA also provides capability mapping features that allow organizations to evaluate whether they are spending appropriately on business capabilities and to prioritize investments in emerging capabilities.
